Christopher Hitchens to Debate Scott Ritter 12/20/05 in Tarrytown, NY.
The hot ticket is for the Tarrytown Music Hall debate between Christopher Hitchens, the most articulate defender of the Iraqi invasion, against Scott Ritter, the renegade former WMD inspector. See: DEBATE.
I like the balance of the set-up piece and it's being "moderated" by some Air America babe (are they still on the air?), but Hitchens shouldn't have any trouble with these two.
Last year Hitch debated Tariq Ali. For all his wit, he tended to fall back on the same arguments as Mr. Bush: 9/11, the Ghost of Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Zarqawi, the one-legged wonder. This year I would expect him to add "elections" to the list. If the debate becomes heated, I would expect him to mention Ritter's internet trysting habits. Ritter spoke dangerous truths that prompted Bush to try to ruin him. The same was true for Hitchens, twenty years ago, but not now.

thats good to watch!
I just think Scott is no perfect match for Hitchens in a "debate", I mean Hitchens is much more diverse and colorful in his intellect-base, no?
Ritter will be a challenge, if they stay on topic, still he is not going to beat Hitchens.

Al Frankken underneath the jokes, is politically similar to John Kerry.
This is political entertainment.
I was convinced by Ritter when he first spoke out. He has that kind of a simple-minded honesty which is immediately credible, at least to me.
RE- If you want a proper preview of the debate, stop by out blog and read how "Hitchens" "debated" "Bush" in office
