Patches and Gretchen: Sugar Head Pie

Gretchen Seichrist is a rising star in the Minneapolis music scene, who is developing a following, because of her soulful style. Some folk, punk, rock and front porch sounds.

I was introduced to her. She is friendly and outspoken.

I appreciated the folksy blend of music. Very frolicsome and delightful...

Thanks,

Frank

Frolicksome? Delightful? No wonder Daniel likes them. I'd be willing to bet good money Gert just loves them.

You know me Pagan, I like pretty much anything from hardcore punk rock to wistful Americana. x

Yeah one of your favorite bands, if I recall correctly, is also one of mine, and I can't even remember their names right off. It's the Brit band that put out the video with clowns in it. At the end, dude lit a match and a trail of fire went to his friends car, with his friend in it, and it exploded. Wild ass video.

Daniel H-G: I believe you'd like Gretchen personally.

Frank: Thank you for visiting.

Pagan: I believe when you talk about liking music, my first question is when you're in a record shop, where do you go first?

SecondComingOfBast said...

I usually buy my music from Wal-Mart.

Radiohead is the band of which you speak.

Now you're talking.

DHG-

No it was The Arctic Monkeys. The video I was thinking about was Effervescent Adolescent

Oh right, they are an equally cool band, last album was a bit off the boil but the first two, outstanding bits of work.

Thank you, Renegade Eye. I came across your site a few weeks back and liked it a lot. Keep up the good work.

On the subject of music: I'm into classic rock more than anything. I guess I'm still stuck in the 60s, 70s and 80s, although I recently rediscovered the music of The Clash. I love their lyrics and working class message.

Frank: I'm linking to your blog tomorrow.

Pagan: I like music from dead junkies like Miles Davis.

Daniel H-G: Did you ever sing on stage?

Daniel Hoffmann-Gill said...

Yes, a little but not musicals, my voice is strong but of limited range for such things but yes, I've done theatre with a few songs on.

It tests an actors true mettle, their feelings about singing.

If she is coming to Montana she better stick around Missoula. She would have trouble finding a gig in Miles City.

I get a little Lucinda Williams vibe.

Troutsky: I could see a Lucinda vibe.

DHG: Carrying a tune will do.
