I was a bit sceptical about the article's boast that the Communists "come second" in Tel Aviv's municipal elections ("coming second" in a multi-party means nothing), but non, they actually got 32,4% of the vote! (which is 7% more than Lenin's Bolsheviks got in December 1917).

Question remains: if they get 32,4% in Tel Aviv, why do they only get 4 seats in 120 seat Knesset ? Tel Aviv accounts for almost a third of Israel's population...

Sonia: The Israeli Communist Party is overall a small group. The Tel Aviv results show it can have power, beyond its numbers. There is no labor party like Great Britain in Israel. The most radical workers are in the ICP.

The Bolsheviks never claimed to be the majority. All power to the soviets, meant they took power, not the Bolshevik Party.
