I didn't realise you meant this Ken Loach film, I saw it when it came out over here, awesome film and featuring the Manchester United great that is Eric Cantona!
Isn't Loach in his 70s? The Wind The Shakes the Barley moved us to tears.
A couple of days ago at the Seattle Independent Film Festival, we saw Night Catches Us, which is about a former Black Panther who has left is past behind but whose father's death brings him back to a neighborhood filled with ghosts. Finely drawn characters and very well written.
I just saw the film. Imperfect. The second half is better than the first. Eric Cantona's scenes are weak. The climax is overblown and lacks credibility. In the real world, it's the other guy who would have the mob on his side...
This is Ken Loach of "Ladybird, Ladybird" - let's throw subtlety out the window.
Sonia, the second half better than the first beats all hell out of first half better than the second. What was wrong with the first half anyway, no nudity?
I would love to see that BP movie K was talking about too, sounds good.

I might not be online this weekend.
Daniel H-G: Eric Cabtona can act.
K: I would love to see the Black Panther movie. Crazy times.
I liked Land and Freedom, Loach's film based on Orwell's book Homage to Catalona.
Loach is old.

God you're grumpy Sonia.

Sonia: Did you see the Play It Again Sam aspect?
The first part is slow, compared to the second.
It was fun.
Daniel H-G: Who else on the right would even see a Ken Loach movie.
Pagan: I would like to see the BP movie.
Sonia must be a Manchester City fan........
Heh, indeed Tony.
