Wha...I am not surprised by Wal-Marts plans at all. <BR/>What you may be surprised to hear from me is that many non-profit agencies, with good moral missions on the outside, use the exact same tactics that Wal-mart uses. <BR/>I have worked for three non-profits in teh past four years, and each of them had very scary skeletons in the closet. I am not talking small time cost-cutting, but major layoffs, the removal of full time, benefit jobs with more part time, non-benefit jobs. The employeees for one agency that I worked for had voted on whether or not to unionize back in 2000. The executive director and the board somehow blocked teh counting of the votes until 2005! The votes returned an overwhelming majority in favor of the union. Unfortunately, little has been done to grant the employees there more rights (I quit after only three months, my shortest job ever).Ariellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01995251370791082592noreply@blogger.com
